Tranquility
Hill Fresh Creek, Andros Island, Bahamas
Although the name implies a laid-back
atmosphere, calm activities and everything in slow motion, the fishing
with Tranquility Hill is anything but.
These guys know where the big
bones hang out and what it takes to catch them. It can be
very intense fishing to trophy size bonefish or casting to doubles
and triples of average bones of 3 – 5 pounds. They are located
on the south end of the North Island of Andros Island on the North
Bight (24.28.01 N and 77.43.53 W on Google Earth).
Eight years ago, Raymond Mackey
and Ivan Neymour broke ground and built their dream bonefishing
lodge on a hillside overlooking the North Bight at Behring Point,
on Andros Island. Their goal then, as it remains today was
simple: Create a fishing camp close to some of Andros' prime trophy
bonefish flats while offering a professional guide and lodge staff,
comfortable accommodations, good food and most important of all,
a quality fishing experience. Not much has changed at Tranquility
Hill since its inception, and today it remains a great destination
for the serious saltwater angler at a very reasonable price.
The vast fishing area that
Tranquility Hill fishes sprawls over hundreds of square miles and
is composed of winding channels and creeks, lush mangrove cays,
and countless miles of sandy flats stretching to the waters of the
West Side. There are numerous hard bottom wading flats as well as
deeper water and soft bottom flats to fish from a boat.
