Getting There

Travel from your home to Andros Town, Andros Island, Bahamas: Direct flights from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale to Andros Town are available by private charter (Air Flight (954) 359 0320 or Safari Seaplane 242.393.2522).

Gulf Stream international offers direct flights to Andros from some select cities. Western Air offers twice-a-day service between Nassau and Andros Island. Flying time is 15 minutes and cost is approximately $70 each way. Western Air does not accept credit cards, so be prepared to pay for your flight in cash. Contact your travel agent or the carrier direct for exact times and fares. As aircraft flying to Andros Town are often small, twin engine planes, we recommend carrying a maximum of 40-pounds of luggage, soft sided if possible. Rod cases should be limited to 6 1/2 feet long.

If you are flying commercially into Nassau International Airport you will first clear immigrations, retrieve your luggage and clear customs. Once you have cleared customs, you will need to recheck yourself and luggage to Andros Town at the nearest Western Air counter.

You must claim your luggage on your first point of entry into the Bahamas and clear immigrations and customs. Failure to claim your luggage will result in your luggage not showing up at your end destination.

Upon arrival at Andros Town, you will have to wait a bit for your luggage, as it is hand loaded off the plane. Once you have your luggage, a taxi will be waiting for you arranged by the lodge. There may be other anglers making their way to the lodge that you can share a taxi with. The drive takes approximately 30-minutes. Upon arrival at the lodge you will check into your room and receive a brief tour of the lodge. The rest of the day is at your leisure and for gearing up for fishing the next morning.
