Playa Blanca Fishing Lodge - Yucatan Peninsula - Punta Pajaros, Mexico
Playa Blanca is a full-service resort on the Yucatan Peninsula, sister lodge to Casa Blanca. This deluxe, isolated resort is located on a small private island with ten miles of secluded beaches, 120 miles south of Cancun, Mexico on the Yucatan's Caribbean coast. It also happens to be in the center of one of the world's largest protected wild areas... the Sian Ka'an, Bioshpere Reserve, a pristine reserve covering over 1.3 million acres.
Playa Blanca's aircraft provides convenient service from Cancun avoiding any arduous auto and boat transfers. Untouched, white sand beaches lined with coconut palms, stretch as far as the eye can see. The climate is wonderful year round. From November through June, the days are dry with an average midday temperature of 88 F. The hotel offers a high level of seclusion and personal service in a pristine natural surroundings. If you want to totally get away from it all, Playa Blanca is the place.
Guests at Playa Blanca have a multitude of activities to plan each day in paradise around. The main recreation at Playa Blanca revolves around its extraordinary beaches and beautiful Caribbean waters. Guests can choose from guided and unguided excursions such as guided snorkeling, sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing, guided fishing, Mayan Ruin tours and bicycling. But don't be fooled by all the niceties of this first-class resort, it's the flats fishing and easy access to Espiritu Santo Bay that attracts us.
Espiritu Santo Bay is one of the last, great flats fishing wildernesses left in the world. The bay is a myriad of flats, reefs, back-bays, channels, bocas, rivers, mangrove-lined shores and cenotes that sees little or no pressure from other lodges. All of the big four call the bay home, bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and during certain times of the year they are everywhere. In addition, the resort can easily access some hidden tarpon lagoons that are loaded with fish ranging between 5 and 40 pounds. Ascension Bay to the north is just as easily fished from Playa Blanca. It's the resort's unique ability to offer first class lodging on a private island with great fishing and non-angling activities that is making Playa Blanca one of the most popular resorts in the Caribbean.
If you are looking for a flats fishing holiday that everyone, angler and non-angler will enjoy, Playa Blanca must be considered. This fine resort has limited capacity and fills quickly, especially January through May. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Species of Fish: Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Jack Crevalle, and Barracuda.
Lodging: 5 guest rooms overlooking the beach. Rooms are decorated in white with bright Caribbean accents. Rooms have private verandas, large baths, and ceiling fans. Each room is different and may be reserved by room number. Playa Blanca is an all-inclusive property serving three meals a day with light snacks available between seatings. The restaurant is casual. Seating is flexible. Meals are served indoors or on the covered veranda per guest request. The menu features fresh seafood and a variety of regional specialties. A choice of two entrees is offered at each meal. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. The bar is located in the restaurant and offers a changing atmosphere throughout the day. The bar offers indoor and outdoor services as well as a covered seating on top of the building...a perfect spot to sip a tropical drink and watch the waves on the beach.
Travel Arrangements: All guest should book flights to Cancun, Mexico. From there, Casa Blanca will provide a charter flight which will fly you directly to the lodge. Guests making their own flight reservations must plan to arrive in Cancun no later than 2 P.M. and schedule their return flight no earlier than 11 A.M. in order to make connections with the air charter.
Length of Stay: Arrival on Saturday, Departure on the following Saturday. Shorter trips are available upon request and availability.
Season: January through June, October through December.
Occupancy: Playa Blanca can host a maximum of 14 guests.

Inclusions: The rate includes: Round-trip air charter from Cancun to the lodge, Deluxe accommodations, all meals, guided fishing and boat beverages.
Non-Inclusions: The rate does not include: Airfare to Cancun, overnights enroute, liquor, soft drinks, gratuities, use of phone, items of personal nature, travel insurance or departure tax.
