We’ve been there. We’ve organized, arranged, guided and hosted anglers on trips to Los Roques for the two decades that sport fishing has been allowed in the remarkable off-shore national park. That’s longer than most other angling travel agents representing the various Venezuelan outfitters and lodges have been in business. Our experienced staff of travel experts helped train most of the original guides and virtually all of the outfitters now operating in the offshore archipelago. The Fly Shop’s senior staff set the standard and established the design of the packages offered at Los Roques by the current outfitters, and was instrumental in the institution of the licensing, limiting of anglers, and implementation of the catch-and-release regulations. That knowledge and experience has been invaluable in helping our clients choose the best dates, and has added a more custom-tailored finish to each of our reservations.

Our travel staff communicates regularly with the Sight Cast team, and has up-to-the-minute access to the lodge calendar and space available. Reservations can be made as far as two years in advance, and peak dates are often spoken for more than a year ahead of time. We can confirm your desired dates almost immediately, and guarantee that there are no other comparable packages available at a lower cost.

After a verbal confirmation of your reservation you'll receive a short confirmation letter or e-message showing the dates of your stay, terms of the booking and an invoice showing the cost of the trip. A 50% deposit is normally due within two weeks of deposit. Final payments are due 60 days prior to arrival. Deposits and final payments can be made with either a credit card or check.

Deposits are fully refundable, less a $150 service fee, if cancellations are received more than 60 days in advance of the scheduled visit. In the event that reservations are cancelled within 60 days of the scheduled visit, they are non-refundable. However, if the canceling guest or The Fly Shop is able to find replacements for those cancelled dates, the entire deposit, less the $150 service fee, will be refunded.

Los Roques is a rare place that every fly fisherman should experience. There's nobody that knows it better than we do, because we helped get it started and we're constantly trying to make it better.

Los Roques - Package Descriptions:

Angling Packages are standard Double Occupancy (each two quests share a room and a guide). Single Room Supplements are available for anglers requesting private rooms, hotel (sharing guides). Companion Packages include non-anglers (wives, girlfriends, and children) on a double occupancy basis.

Private Packages includes private room at the lodge and hotel, private guide, and private boat.

The Guides: 1 guide and I captain per 28 foot Fiberglass boat.

Options Include: Extra Guides can be arranged for a modest daily fee depending on availability.

Non-Scheduled charter shopping tours to the mainland can be arranged for companions.

Alternative Schedules and Angling Options: Turnaround days into and out of the lodge are open- they will go out of their way to accommodate your schedule. While you're there, you can choose to target tarpon and mega barracuda's as well as the bonefish.

SCUBA, snorkeling, motor vessel and sailing tours of the archipelago can be arranged.

The Acuarela Lodge experience is usually designed for a maximum of eight anglers. They generally limit space to no more than four non-anglers and limit the total number of guests to twelve. The non-angling packages are nearly identical to those of the fishermen, and prices are predicated on double occupancy.

Making your reservation: All you have to do is call The Fly Shop (1-800-669-3474) and we can tell you the dates that are currently available that will accommodate the number of people in your party. If you have some flexibility in your schedule, we may recommend some dates where the moon phase may be a little more favorable. Although the fishing is always great at Los Roques, if you catch it just right, it can be stupendous! Of course, we'll answer any other questions you may have. If you're ready to make the commitment, we will immediately reserve the spots for those dates you request. A written statement from us will follow shortly thereafter, and we'll ask for a deposit to confirm those reservations. The current deposit required is 50% of the package price.
