Kamalame
A handful of gracefully decorated private villas dot
our island escape and face a rythmic ocean surf that will lull you
into an attitude that requires only bare feet, suntan lotion, and
a cocktail, making Kamalame Cay the perfect blend of romance and
adventure.
Andros Island is home to world-class bonefishing
and Kamalame is fortunate to be able to offer two distinct fisheries.
There is abundant water with excellent bonefishing right on the
backside of the Cay as well as in the nearby creeks and flats stretching
all the way to Majestic Point. They also offer access to the Joulter
Cays with their seemingly endless wadeable flats and large schools
of tailing bonefish. The Joulters lie at the north end of Andros
(a shrot drive from Kamalame). Andros is renowned for having the
largest bonefish in the Bahamas. Fish averaging a solid 4 pounds
to many in the 9-plus pound class are encountered while even larger
bones work the edges of the flats. There is an honest
opportunity to see and (hopefully!) catch bonefish weighing in the
double digit category -- a thrill for any fisherman.
