Deep Water Cay Club - Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas
In the mid-fifties the angling legends Gil Drake, A.J. McClane, and a cadre of devoted bonefish fishermen searched the then undeveloped Bahamas for the perfect site for their private angling retreat. Then they built the granddaddy of bonefish lodges.
Deep Water Cay Club has remained the standard of angling excellence since its completion in 1959. Little has changed in over 4 decades, with the exception of a beautiful new clubhouse. The fishing now is better than ever!
The Club is famous for its guides, swift Dolphin Superskiffs, deluxe air-conditioned cottages, superb dining and the hundreds of square miles of shallow flats surrounding this remote cay at the distant East End of Grand Bahama Island.
Deep Water Cay Club is in a class by itself in the Caribbean as both a deluxe resort and an excellent bonefish destination. It is easy to forget, when one sees the quality of the facility and experiences the fine food and hospitality, that the site was
originally chosen because it is dead-center in the middle of nearly 200 square miles of very productive, very remote, very protected bonefishing flats.
Whatever the club is, it makes no pretense at being a Holiday Inn in the Bahamas. Its owners have always been flyfishermen. They just didn't see any reason that one had to be uncomfortable while pursuing what becomes for most of us more than a hobby.
Because the resort is small and exclusive, accommodations at the Cay are limited to a minimum of 3, 4 or 7 day packages.
Deep Water Cay Club is one of the most professional and reliable bonefishing operations in the Caribbean. The facility is deluxe (by lodge standards), the guides are excellent, the management is superb and the location was chosen because of the fine fishing
at the east end of Grand Bahama.
Species of Fish: Bonefish, Permit, and Barracuda.

Bungalow Lodging: The comfortable, oceanfront, duplex guest bungalows are each outfitted with two full-sized beds, and feature private baths, a large storage closet, and refrigerator for soft drinks, beer, and mix. Ice is delivered to the rooms each
afternoon at the conclusion of the fishing day.
A veritable Caribbean garden surrounds the cozy cottages, and tailing fish can often be seen on the adjacent flats. It is not coincidental that the lovely view from each porch looks westward toward the setting sun.
Drake Cottage Lodging: Gil Drake, founding father of the club used this lovely two-bedroom cottage as his own private angling retreat. The Drake Cottage features a wet bar and living room and is ideal for two couples or a family group of four. There
is a daily charge for this accommodations option.
Deep Water Cay Club Lodge and Guest Facilities: The spacious, new, two-story lodge has a commanding view of the flats to both the East and West. It is not uncommon to have your breakfast coffee and evening cocktail punctuated by a view that includes
tailing fish. The spacious dining room that can be arranged to cater to the entire guest group, or more intimate table arrangements. Hors d'houvres are served at 6:30 each evening and dinner at 7:30. Guests usually take advantage of the regulation pool table, well-appointed game room, angling library, or well-stocked
bar before and after dinner. Deep Water Cay Club has a state-of-the-art tackle shop, complete with flies, rental rods (both conventional and fly) and a very tasteful gift shop. Credit card are not accepted, but personal and business checks, cash, and travelers checks are welcome payment for your bar, tackle, and gift shop
