Fishing at Christmas Island Outfitters

Typically, your fishing days will look like this:
After a 6:30 AM breakfast, you will depart for the flats around 7:00 AM. You will have three (3) days each with the truck and the boat. You will fish from approximately 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, then be back at the lodge around 5:30 PM. Dinner is around 7:00 PM. Remember, that this schedule will change according to your fishing desires and the tides. On your last night pay your extra lodge expenses to the lodge owner. Take care of tips and pack up for an early morning departure tomorrow. Make sure your flight reservations are confirmed.

Christmas Island Angling and Guide Options:
Your fishing package includes three lagoon skiff days and transportation by vehicle to the flats for three days. You will be assigned two guides for each party of four. If you wish an extra guide and, if one is available, the cost is $100 per day in U.S. currency. We recommend that you consider doing so if this is your first visit or if you are a beginner.

Your guide will know which flat is most likely to turn on with a given tidal condition and which flats traditionally hold the bigger fish. One of the keys to seeing and catching fish at Christmas Island is being on the right part of the right flat with the right tide. Remember that you are more likely to see bigger fish at the highest tide and in thigh-to waist-deep water. You will catch much smaller fish in ankle-deep water.

Lunch is prepared for you each day and your guide/vehicle driver then packs it in a cooler with ice water and puts it in the vehicle. If you wish to take soft drinks, bottled water or beer, they can be taken from your in-room refrigerator and you will be billed accordingly. After lunch, the rest of the afternoon is spent fishing the various flats.
