Casa Blanca Fishing Lodge - Yucatan Peninsula - Punta Pajaros, Mexico
Accessible only by private charter charter from Cancun, the remote lodge location on the southernmost shore of Ascension Bay, insures no wasted time getting tied to terrific Permit, Bonefish, and Tarpon fishing. Casa Blanca has all the ingredients for a wonderful angling holiday, and a reputation for service, fine food, and superb, diversified fishing.
The lodge is located on the remote, southeastern end of Ascension Bay, less than 150 feet from the waters edge! Not only are the accommodations, guides, and equipment first-rate, but you won't have to endure the 2 hour boat ride that prohibits most anglers from fishing Ascension Bay.
Fishing at Casa Blanca The flats of Ascension Bay are shallow, clear and firm, and anglers have the option of wading for miles, or being poled in the Dolphin Super Skiffs by the finest guides on the Yucatan. Either way, flyrodders will have the chance to cast to the huge pods of schooling bonefish and permit that made these flats famous. Bones here are generally larger than those found elsewhere on the Yucatan or their Belizean cousins. An added bonus is the tarpon that can be found in the deep mangrove channels and hidden lagoons from April through October.
Peak flyfishing corresponds with the best of the region's weather. Winter months are sometimes the most attractive in the Yucatan, and
though the winds can blow, and modify the quality of the fishing everywhere in the Caribbean. The well protected perimeter of Ascension Bay, and leeward flats of the lagoon provide excellent fishing when other, more exposed destinations are at the mercy of the trade winds. The best fishing at Casa Blanca begins in mid-March, includes all of April, May and June, and the Fall fishing in September, October and November fishing can be spectacular.
The lodge sites on a rocky point known to the locals as Punta Pajaros. The actual lodge was the former staff quarters for coco plantation workers. Since remodeled you will find that every room is one with a view. Each room has a different layout to accommodate to ones individual or group's needs. The lodge also boasts a 100 yard long concrete pier. Under the lights at night you will find cruising tarpon and permit. Some of the best fishing happens right off the pier.
Species of Fish: Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Jack Crevalle, and Barracuda.
Lodging: Arguably the most deluxe and well-equipped resort in Mexican saltwater, Casa Blanca has a worldwide reputation, stat-of-the-art skiffs, excellent lodging, gourmet cuisine, quality guides and first class fishing! Anglers are housed in spacious, well-furnished, double occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom.
Travel Arrangements: All guest should book flights to Cancun, Mexico. From there, Casa Blanca will provide a charter flight which will fly you directly to the lodge. Guests making their own flight reservations must plan to arrive in Cancun no later than 2 P.M. and schedule their return flight no earlier than 11 A.M. in order to make connections with the air charter.
Length of Stay: Arrival on Saturday, Departure on the following Saturday. Shorter trips are available upon request and availability.
Season: January through June, October through December.
Occupancy: Casa Blanca Fishing Lodge can host a maximum of 20 guests.

Inclusions: The rate includes: Round-trip air charter from Cancun to the lodge, Deluxe accommodations, all meals, guided fishing and boat beverages.
Non-Inclusions: The rate does not include: Airfare to Cancun, overnights enroute, liquor, soft drinks, gratuities, use of phone, items of personal nature, travel insurance or departure tax.
