Typical Fishing Day

On day one when you arrive, we steam south into the Gulf of Carpentaria. Towing trolling rigs for large Pelagics, possibly casting to schools of surface feeding Tunas and Bonito. This time is used to settle in, rig your gear, relax and unwind. Your first night aboard, as all nights, are spent in a calm river mouth anchorage. Day two, after breakfast the skiffs with you aboard are deployed to fish either the river, or the flats, the estuary snags or reefs, whatever takes your fancy under the guidance of your guide for the day. The rest of your “seafari” is spent working our way back through six available river systems and ninety miles of coast line. The last day of the charter is a morning fishing session and then we travel back to Seisia. The following morning after breakfast aboard with us you are transported to the airport for departure.

Guests fish from custom built fiberglass skiffs 5.4m (17.5') and 5.2m (16') designed after the Florida Keys style flats boats. Powered by late model 30 and 40 and 60hp outboards, self draining, unsinkable, super stable, shoal draft with large casting decks secure under deck rod storage and no hook ups for fly fishing!

All boats are radio equipped and in constant contact with the other boats and the mothership.

The variety of fishing is just one of the qualities of this trip. You may find yourself casting to tree stumps and snags in the rivers, searching the flats for permit or golden trevally or in the open ocean watching for feeding birds or tuna slashing bait at the surface. One very interesting fishing opportunity I had on a recent trip was spotting a giant manta ray. No, we didn’t cast to the ray but we did notice two large cobia following close behind it. My partner and I both got shots off and we both hooked up.
