Join Mike Michalak, The Fly Shop's owner, for a week of fishing at Dave and Kim Egdorf's Nushagak River Camp, Alaska
July 22 – 29, 2010
I am looking for 6 anglers to join me at Egdorf’s camp on the remote, upper Nushagak River in Alaska. It is about 100 miles from Dillingham, AK and it is only reachable by float plane. These anglers should not get lonely easily. We will most likely be the only ones fishing these waters. No need to worry about getting to a river-run early to pick out a rock to stand on.

The focus of our week is pretty one sided – fishing and enjoying the wild Alaska river experience. We’ll have long hours on the river each day fishing for rainbows, char and grayling. And for those who cannot get enough river-time, some of the best camp water found anywhere is just a few steps from the campfire, where one can fish, self-guided, as long and often as he or she can stand. This is fishing that really hasn’t changed much since Dave first started fishing here over 25 years ago. Except, that we will be fishing from modern jet boats that can plane over a few inches of water to get us to the best places on over 100 miles of river.

As mentioned before, capacity is restricted to 6 anglers and me. If you have been here before, you know exactly what it is like and you are welcome back. If you have never been to an Alaskan wilderness camp, this will be everything you thought it was and more. The wildlife, the fishing, the country, the river and the camp life is over-the-top ALASKA. There is no better way to introduce yourself to one of the most remote fishing destinations on North America.
This is my first trip to Egdorf’s Camp, but not to Alaska. Call or email me with any of your questions about the trip and or equipment and if I don’t know the answers right away, I’ll find them ASAP and get them to you.
The cost is $3,995 and includes 7 nights lodging and 6 days of guided fishing, private charter flights between Dillingham and the camp, meals, reasonable amounts of sodas beer and wine and double accommodations. The dates are July 22 to 29, 2010.
