| Our Outfitter in Chubut
Since rainbow and brown trout were first introduced in Argentina they've flourished in the unihabited, sparsely populated frontier cordillera near Esquel. To the East of town is the famous spring creek angling of Arroyo Pescado. West of the village is the scenic, alping, Los Alerces National Park, with strictly enforced catch-and-release regulations and a spiderweb of streams, lakes and rivers that are the finest public trout fishing in Patagonia. There are several lovely hostelrias inside Los Alerces National Park. The southeastern border of the park butts up against the Futalafquen fly fishing-only tailwater where more than one anglers' arm has grown weary catching both rainbows and browns. And hidden in valleys a few hours drive to the south are rivers and streams full of fish that seldom see a fly or lure. |
