Fishing day

Each morning guests are awakened by a knock on the door and a hot carafe of fresh coffee to help nock the morning cobwebs out. A home cooked breakfast is ready at the lodge by 8:00 a.m.

Each day will involve a short shuttle to the river put-in sight followed by floating and fishing your way down several miles of a different stretch of the Blackwater each and ever day. The emphasis is on the fishing, and does not involve long drifts between prime stretches of water - this affords a lot of time to wade and explore the incredibly productive runs, riffles and pools of the home water.

Your angling day may involve motoring up the home lake to an upriver section of the Blackwater River or taking a vehicle to distant, seldom-if-ever-fished lake to some incredible still-water fishing for big rainbows on dry flies and streamers. There an amazing selection of daily fishing trips to choose from and Dave Harrington and his guides will help you decide which best suits your fishing tastes. Lunch sites are situated on the best runs of the river and usually consist of sandwiches, chips, homemade cookies, water, sodas and fresh fruit.

You can expect to be back to the lodge sometime between around 6:00 p.m. with plenty of time to take a shower, have a cocktail, enjoy some tasty appetizers before dinner is served at approximately 7:30 p.m. Complimentary wine is served with dinner. Maureen Harrington is an extremely talented chef and her wonderful meals are all homemade. Most of the vegetables in Maureen’s dishes come from her amazingly productive organic greenhouse.

After dinner guests can tie flies, play horseshoes, take a walk, enjoy the campfire or play cards. Anglers are welcome to fish after dinner on their own at one of the home water beats. You can literally fish from dawn until dark or as long as their energy level and enthusiasm will last and fishermen are encouraged to enjoy as much angling as possible.

The Harrington’s have great water adjacent to camp and are very flexible with the fishing schedule.

NON-ANGLING ACTIVITIES

The non-angling activities at Euchiniko Lakes Ranch are quite extensive, perfect for guests that don’t want to fish every day. There is horseback riding, ATV exploring, hiking on the Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail, power boating, canoeing, nature/interpretative walks, photography, and cooking lessons by Maureen Harrington.
