| Fishing day at Eastslope
Adventures
Each morning guests are up by 7:00
a.m. A monster breakfast is on by 7:30 a.m. and afterwards you will
load-up in one of Cam’s vehicle with guide and head off to
your fishing venue for the day.
The average drive time is about 20 minutes and
usually no longer than 30.
Some of the rivers Cam fishes are floated, like the
Waterton but most of them are walk and wade fisheries. Although
Cam can tailor the fishing program to fit any physical ability;
to take full advantage of everything he has, you must be able to
walk and wade relatively well. None of the wading is heavy or extreme
and none of the walk-ins and outs are arduous or involve a lot of
elevation variation – this is mostly flat, prairie country.
It would not be a bad idea to bring a small day pack in order to
carry your gear, i.e. raingear, camera, fleece, water bottle, etc.
Lunch is packed for you at
the Inn and typically consists of sandwiches, chips, homemade
cookies, water, sodas and fresh fruit.
You can expect to be back to
the lodge sometime between around 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
with plenty of time to take a shower, have a cocktail, and enjoy
some tasty appetizers before dinner is served at approximately 7:30
p.m.
After dinner guests can play
horseshoes, take a walk, play cards, etc. Highly recommended
that at least one evening after dinner that you take a short drive
(10 minutes) to Waterton Lakes National Park to view wildlife or
tour the historic Prince of Wales Hotel located on upper Waterton
Lake. The hotel was built in 1926 – 1927 and was designated
a National Historic Site of Canada in 1992. Built entirely by hand
of massive native-wood timbers, this site is well worth the short
drive for a look-see – the view of the lake and Northern Rockies
is amazing!
