Lodging

Up to ten guests per week can enjoy all the comforts of Patagonia River Guides’ first class fishing lodge located in a stunning mountain valley on the bank of the Rio Grande.

The lodge borders the southern margin of Los Alerces National Park and has unbeatable access to both Los Alerces and the Esquel area’s rivers. The lodge features five beautiful cabins each accommodating two anglers. Four of the cabins have two bedrooms with queen size beds and a shared bathroom. The fifth is our “honeymoon suite” and has one king size bed and oversized bathroom. The lodging facilities also includes a cocktail lounge allowing guests to gather after fishing and share stories with friends while enjoying our open bar. The cocktail lounge includes a large deck and an outdoor fire place as well as an indoor fire place, bar and lounge. If you like you can also tie flies, play cards or play pool. The lodge is completed by a beautiful dining room where you’ll enjoy a healthy breakfast in the morning and gourmet food (some of the best in Patagonia) prepared by their talented chef in the evening.

The packages with Patagonia River Guides includee all food and beverage during your stay. Breakfast is hearty and consists of eggs your style, toast, jams, meats, fruits, juice, tea and coffee. Lunch is culinary delight and is normally served stream side. Lunch includes a nice combination of area meats, cheeses, vegetables, wine, and dessert making this an experience that you’ll be looking forward to daily. Dinner is typically served around 9:00 pm after cocktail hour, which gives guests a chance to tell others about their day and those who choose to fish later, a few more minutes to get back to the lodge and ready for dinner. Dinner is typically three courses and features not only Patagonia’s famous beef and lamb, but also pork, chicken, rabbit, fish, pasta and vegetables. Malbec wine is typically served with dinner as this is the best variety that Argentina produces and one of the hardest to find in other countries. For those interested, Patagonia River Guides offer a weekly wine tasting to compare some of the country’s finest.

Lodging, Food and Beverage in Rio Pico Region

If your trip with Patagonia River Guides includes fishing in the Rio Pico Region guests are accommodated at Tres Rios Ranch, which offers the best accommodations and food in the entire Rio Pico area. This is a very remote area and the service that Tres Rios provides makes our guests very comfortable. The lodge features four double rooms with private baths (best showers in Patagonia), central fire place in the main lodge to gather for story telling, and a nice dining room. All the guest rooms open to a covered porch with a spectacular view of Cerro Desnudo. Meals are home cooked and simpler than at our main lodge; however, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before your fishing departure, streamside lunch, and then a nice dinner with great Argentine wines

From Tres Rios Ranch, you have access to dozens of lakes, spring creeks and rivers. The Rio Pico area is rugged and there are few signs that things have changed here for decades. This is an experience that you will love as much for the culture and adventure as the fishing
