We started traveling to Tierra del Fuego and fishing the Rio Grande close to two decades ago.

During that time The Fly Shop has been instrumental in developing three of the most famous fly fishing destination lodges in Tierra del Fuego and perhaps the world. Estancia Maria Behety Lodge is a Signature Destination of The Fly Shop and we have instant access to the lodge calendar and space available. Advance reservations are strongly recommended and can be made as far as two, even three years in advance. First right of refusal: Each year, year after year, there are a substantial number of anglers interested in any space that might become available for next season; testament to the fishing and value of the experience. The waitlist can be substantial. However if you are just a bit flexible, we can usually find a week at one of our terrific properties that fits your schedule and taste.

Our policy on rebooking and releasing rod space at our lodges on the Rio Grande has not changed in over a decade. The space during an angler’s corresponding week for the following season is theirs, if they are planning to return. Returning guests are also given priority for those other spaces that might become available, before we open the calendar to those on the waiting list.

When to make your travel Plans to Tierra del Fuego:

Guest capacity at our three Rio Grande properties is purposely small in order to deliver exceptional personal service and a world-class fishing experience. Our lodge’s limited capacity, as small as six and no larger than twelve, results in space becoming extremely tight, especially during high-demand months of January, February and March. Therefore, if you are serious about booking a trip to the Rio Grande it is important to get on the wait list as soon possible. Usually by the end of May we are in position to offer rod space to those on the waiting list. That is not to say that prime space isn’t available later in the year, but if you are set and going and want to secure pick-of-the-litter dates – get on the wait list and book early!

After a verbal confirmation of your reservation you'll receive a short confirmation letter or e-message showing the dates of your stay, terms of the reservation and an invoice showing the cost of the trip. A 50% deposit is normally due within two weeks of deposit. Final payments are due 60 days prior to arrival. Deposits and final payments can be made with either a credit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover) check, or wire transfer.

(twelve (12) anglers maximum)

Seven (07) Night / Six (06) Day angling package (shared room, shared guide) $5,795 per angler

Pricing includes:
Round-trip auto transfers from Rio Grande to the lodge, daily guide service based on double occupancy, all meals, private, deluxe double occupancy accommodations, all alcoholic beverages (open bar) and fishing license.

Not include:
Tackle, gratuities or items of personal nature.

Cancellations and Refunds:
All deposits and payments are non-refundable. Our Tierra del Fuego lodges are small, the season is short, and the angler capacity is very limited. The non-refundable lodge cancellation policy is an industry standard. However, The Fly Shop will make every effort to help locate a replacement angler should a cancellation be necessary. Finding a replacement for a South American trip on short notice can be very difficult and, at times, impossible.
