June through September |
Wilderness Place Lodge
is a beautiful, log structure located on Lake Creek, a clear,
gravel-bottomed stream. The facility can accommodate
a maximum of 14 anglers sharing 6 secluded log cabins adjacent
to the main lodge. Guides, with jet boats, are provided, along
with all the meals and lodging for the 2 (minimum) to 7 night
stay. The round trip floatplane flight from Anchorage is also
included in this very economical package.
Wilderness
Place Lodge offers a tremendous value and ease of accessibility
from Anchorage, but its real drawing power for the flyfishing
community is its strong season-long salmon runs and outstanding
Rainbow trout fishing in late August and early September.
While the best of the trout fishing coincides with late summer
and early fall weeks, you will be hooking salmon of one kind
or another all during June, July and August. This includes
enormous King salmon early season, followed by Chum, Sockeye,
Pink and Silver salmon in July and August.
Also
of tremendous interest to more intrepid anglers are the lodge's
float trips on upper Lake Creek. These 5 day, 6 night
floats began at Chelatna Lake, headwaters of Lake Creek, and
emphasize short daily floats with plenty of wading and fishing
for plentiful, gorgeous rainbow trout. All the camping gear,
as well as accomplished guides and top-notch rafts are provided.
The final day's float ends at the lodge, where guests will
overnight before flying back to Anchorage the next morning.
Wilderness
Place Lodge is located 65 miles Northwest of Anchorage, a
40-minute float plane flight. Mount McKinley, only
60 miles from the Lodge, offers a breath-taking horizon for
your visit. Flights to the lodge normally depart at approximately
11 a.m. and return at 1 p.m., and anglers should make air
accommodations to allow some flexibility for transfers to
and from Anchorage International and the Lake Hood location
of Regal Air.
Experience
the grandeur of Alaska's wilderness at Wilderness Place Lodge.
The lodge offers comfortable cabins, and cold beer and wine
are available for sale in the main lodge. A professional chef
prepares delectable meals. Set your own pace; view the wildlife
and the beautiful wild Alaskan surroundings. Cory and Jason
are excellent hosts and their primary objective is that you
have the best, most successful angling experience ever.
Lodging:
Six
private cabins.
Travel Arrangements: Plan
to arrive in Anchorage the night before your scheduled arrival
day to the lodge. It is a 35 - 45 minute flight from Anchorage
to Wilderness Place Lodge via Float Plane. The lodge boats
will meet your plane. You will arrive in time to settle into
your cabin, have a nourishing lunch, meet your guide and be
out on the river for an afternoon of fishing.
Inclusions:
The above rates include
float plane transportation from Anchorage to the Lodge (or
Chelatna Lake for floaters) and full lodge services including
all meals, shared or private cabins, guided fishing and jet
boat service. Float trips include round trip airfare from
Anchorage, all meals, rafts, camp gear, guides and tents.
Rates are based on noon arrivals and departures. Parties of
less than 3 may be subject to an air taxi surcharge each way.
Group rates are available upon request.
Non-Inclusions:
This rate does not include:
beer & wine, fishing licenses, lures & flies, staff gratuities.

A deposit of 50% is required to confirm reservations.
The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Reservations
made less than 60 days in advance must be paid in full. In
the event of a cancellation, deposits will be refunded only
if space can be rebooked. We recommend that you purchase trip
cancellation insurance. Wilderness Place Lodge will not be
responsible for loss of personal property, cancellation, or
delays due to weather, acts of God, or other circumstances
beyond their control. |
