Reservations and Rates
The Fly Shop was literally in
on the ground floor of Hoodoo Lodge; not only did we book much of
Rod’s initial season of fly fishing clients, but he also hired
on some “The Fly Shop” guides, who did a lot of carpentry
work to get the lodge finished prior to the season opening.
In addition, we were able
to pass on a lot of our experience regarding successful fly fishing
lodges to Rod, and he in turn blew our socks off in terms
of performance. One of our early season clients described Rod as
“a force of Nature”, and throughout the season we heard
repeatedly that Rod has a work ethic that defies human description.
It was a match made in heaven!
The travel staff here at The
Fly Shop communicates almost daily with Rod, and has exclusive
and up-to-the-minute access to their calendar. When you call us,
we can tell you immediately what space is available for the upcoming
season, as well as what to expect, fishing-wise, during any open
weeks. We’ve all been there, and can speak from firsthand
experience. Tackle, flies, clothing, itinerary, whatever –
we’re happy to talk you through what to expect. Feel free
to call us at 800-669-3474, or email travel@theflyshop.com , and
one of our travel specialists will respond promptly.
After a verbal confirmation
of your reservation you'll receive a short confirmation letter
or e-message showing the dates of your stay, terms of the booking
and an invoice showing the cost of the trip. A 50% deposit is normally
due within two weeks of deposit. Final payments are due 60 days
prior to arrival. Deposits and final payments can be made with either
a credit card or check. The 2009 weekly angling rates at Hoodoo
Lodge are:
'11 Rates
- King salmon slots
are based on a 6 night/5 day stay, and cost $5850/person in 2011
- Grand Slam Salmon weeks (week-long package) $4,150/person in 2011
- Silver salmon slots
are 7 night/6 day, and are priced at a very reasonable $4,650/person
in 2011
Space is very limited –the lodge has a tremendous return angler rate, and only accommodated 12 guests a week.

Shop. Personal checks, Master Charge, Visa, American Express
and Discovery are all accepted as payment. Reservations must be
confirmed by a 50% deposit within 14 days of receipt of invoice.
Final payments are due 60 days prior to scheduled arrival. In the
event that the reservation is made less than 60 days prior to arrival,
the original invoice will be for the entire balance.
Cancellations and Refunds
All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
Alaska lodges are small, the season is short, and the angler capacity
is very limited. The non-refundable lodge cancellation policy is
an industry standard. Finding replacements are ultimately the responsibility
of the canceling party; however, The Fly Shop will make every effort
to help locate a replacement angler should a cancellation be necessary.
Finding a replacement for an Alaska trip on short notice can be
very difficult and, at times, impossible. In the event of a cancellation,
please notify us immediately.
