Bristol Bay Lodge
Lake Aleknagik, Wood-Tikchik State Park
Western Alaska

B r i s t o l   B a y   L o d g e   i s  located in Western Alaska on the shores of Lake Aleknagik in the shadow of the Kilbuck Mountains. Forty air miles NW of Dillingham, AK and 300 miles west of the nearest connecting northwest road system, Bristol Bay Lodge is only accessible by float plane or boat. The lodge has a well earned, two decade reputation for hospitality and great fishing. Like the finest other Alaskan fly-out lodges The Fly Shop represents, Bristol Bay Lodge's location affords guests an opportunity to fish nearby rivers effortlessly, and within minutes of their doorstep by boat.

The lodge is first class, meals outstanding and the surrounding rivers are superb. What sets Bristol Bay Lodge apart from other Alaskan lodges are the outpost camps they use together with the lodge in this remote wilderness watershed. This highly unique and successful fishing program keeps anglers coming back season after season, some for as many as 15 years in a row.

Bristol Bay Lodge owns and operates three 6 passenger De Havilland Beavers (the workhorse of Alaska) and one 3 passenger Cessna 180, assuring maximum fly-out flexibility and comfort. Each aircraft is in mint condition and maintained by the lodge's private aircraft mechanic.

The Bristol Bay Lodge program is custom-tailored for the serious fisherman and his or her companions. The season-long parade of salmon species and the ever-present trout, char, and grayling offer a fishing opportunity found nowhere else in the world. It's a wonderful Alaska fishing holiday, worth every cent of the package price.

Species of Fish:  Chinook Salmon, Chum Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, Dolly Varden, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, Northen Pike, and Lake Trout.

Lodging:  Bristol Bay Lodge is one of Alaska's premier world class wilderness fishing lodges. The main lodge building houses the completely equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with bar area, library, fly tying facilities, fully equipped tackle shop and has a panoramic view of Lake Aleknagik. Guests are accomodated in either double or single occupancy rooms in the main lodge or in separate guest cabins. All have private baths, baseboard heaters and plenty of hot water. The cabins are complete with living rooms, bedrooms, wet bars, and fireplaces.

Never more than a night away from fine cuisine, tastefully decorated cabins and rooms, all with private baths, and the huge hearth of Bristol Bay Lodge, serious anglers find that the outpost camps offer a part of Alaska that is incredibly satisfying and a wonderful complement to lodge luxury. The quickly disappearing "spike camp" experience affords the serious fisherman dawn-to-dark angling shared only by a few other anglers and Mother Nature.

Each outpost camp has its own charm and distinctly different type of fishing. Camps are very comfortable featuring heated weather-port tents, cots with foam mattresses, sleeping bags with sheet and polar fleece liners, pillows, all the comforts of home, but in an Alaska wilderness setting. Each camp has its own boats and motors, resident guides who live on the river all summer long, and camp cook. The combination cook/dining room tents are spacious and the gathering spot for cocktails, cards, fly tying, and relaxing.
