It’s a Culture of Salmon and Trout where water, land and fish have combined to create the most popular flyfishing destinations on the planet.

“Alaska” is derived from the native Aleut word, alaxsxaq, meaning, “received from the force of the sea.” It’s a rugged landscape that’s visited every summer by a salmon migration of epic proportions. Each year more than a quarter billion salmon stream inland from the cold North Pacific, bound for their natal rivers and streams.

The native peoples of Alaska, the modern migrants, the trout and most of the wildlife of this huge wild state spend their lives inseparable from and dependent on those salmon. This is the culture that greets flyfishermen when they step off the plane in Anchorage. Whether you’re a beginner or a life-long addict looking for the next big thrill, a trip to Alaska is a slam-dunk, a place where every angler still gets a shot at incredible wilderness fishing. But it’s more than just the fishing that sets Alaska apart. Stunning natural beauty and an abundance of wildlife give visiting anglers an overwhelming, almost spiritual feeling of being part of something much, much bigger than themselves.
